The Sr Civil Engineer will support the design and execution of large-scale renewable energy projects. This role involves leading civil engineering activities throughout project development, engineering, permitting, and construction phases.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the lead civil engineer on assigned projects, including contract review, schedule tracking, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform and review civil site design, including access roads, grading plans, drainage systems, and hydrology studies.
- Work closely with CAD design teams to develop and review engineering drawings and construction documents.
- Support project development, bidding, permitting, and pre‑construction activities through engineering analysis and design.
- Provide input into technical contract exhibits and engineering documentation.
- Identify and communicate project risks and technical challenges to project stakeholders.
- Coordinate engineering designs with suppliers, clients, owner's engineers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Prepare technical specifications and scopes of work for construction and material supply.
- Review and coordinate engineering work performed by third‑party consultants and design firms.
- Provide construction phase support, including:
- Site visits and field engineering support
- Shop drawing reviews
- Coordination with contractors and subcontractors
- Bid evaluation and procurement support
- Project close‑out activities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing project costs.
- Travel to project sites as needed to support engineering and construction activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in civil site development, geotechnical engineering, or structural engineering
- 2+ years of field engineering experience on civil infrastructure, utility, or renewable energy projects preferred
