Working supervision and direction of the work and the workforce in the Engineering unit, including maintenance of mechanical and HVAC infrastructure and equipment, plumbing, and facility finishes, and provision of client utility services in adherence with safety requirements/codes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Working supervision of the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical, plumbing, HVAC equipment and apparatus, and facility finishes in the facilities.
- Working supervision of the provision of client utility services including compressed air, water, and drains.
- Coordinate with other Operations staff in scheduling efficient time management program for engineering-related maintenance of the facilities and the provision of client utility services.
- Stand shift as Operating Engineer.
- Operate and maintain the HVAC and energy management computer systems of the facilities.
- Prepare working sketches from blueprints and schematics.
- Oversee the housekeeping duties of the engineering work spaces.
- Implement application and maintain condition of HVAC and mechanical infrastructure in accordance with safety/code requirements.
- Resolve normal technical field problems.
- Oversee testing of all fire safety systems particular to the Engineering Department.
- Maintain inventory of all engineering equipment and supplies.
- Make recommendations to Chief Building Engineer with regards to equipment and materials needed.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Education and Experience:
Two to four years’ experience in a facility engineer position. - Supervisory experience, preferred.
- Experience with computer-based operating and energy management systems.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrate excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills among all levels of staff and clientele.
- Work effectively with diverse groups of people among all levels within an organization; skill to work effectively as part of a team.
- Perform leadership role and job tasks effectively despite sudden deadlines and changing priorities.
- Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
- Provide customer service in a professional considerate manner.
- Excellent record of dependability and reliability.
- Ability to speak, understand, and read standard English.
- Basic computer skills including ability to create word documents and excel spreadsheets.
- Experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Basic computer skills including ability to create word documents and excel spreadsheets.
- EPA Universal Certification.
- Boiler Operator or Refrigeration Operator Certificate.
- Valid Driver’s License.

dust, grime, noise, fumes, wet floors etc., including weather; may require use of an electric cart; may require tools and equipment operation that could cause personal harm or injury, if improperly handled; requires irregular and/or extended hours, including weekends, evening, and holidays, determined by event schedule and/or department need, requires radio usage – 2 way hand held.
