Job Summary

The Permit Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the entire permitting process for FTTH projects, from requirement gathering, sourcing required data, and coordinating engineering requirements between customers, agencies and internal engineering teams. This role will also manage the creation, submission, tracking, and completion of permits through to attainment, handling corrections or changes requested by each authority.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Identify permitting authorities within a boundary
  • Coordinate with permitting authorities to obtain all permit requirements
  • Research, contact and obtain any data required from any utility or asset owner within the area
  • Maintain regulatory compliance, ensuring all plans adhere to local ordinances, codes and permit requirements
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage issue resolution when required
  • Assist with data collection in the field
  • Create, collate and submit permits to permitting authorities
  • Manage, track and expedite the permit approval process through to attainment
  • Review CAD drawings and provide feedback to ensure compliant permit packages
  • Travel regularly to project locations to engage with permitting authorities and end clients
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with internal teams, permitting authorities, professionals, and end customers
  • Excellent problem solving and data analysis skills
  • Demonstrated organizational ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders
  • Self‑awareness and empathy to maximize user and team interactions
  • Strong technical knowledge of FTTH deployments and related permitting requirements
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills, industry knowledge, and grow within the company
Required Education & Experience
  • Ideally 2–3+ years managing FTTH (or similar) permits and working with local municipalities, railroads and DOT
  • Permitting experience in California preferred, specifically Cal Trans
  • 2–3+ years working within Telecom
