Responsibilities- Establish requirements for highly complex software design projects and may lead a team in doing so. Ensure correct features are incorporated early in the projects.
- Architect and design highly complex software projects, completing all phases and following through on in-process and final inspection activities.
- Drive code review of projects and develop and apply technical and quality improvements.
- Create new programs, technologies, and solutions based on novel or unique ideas, documenting new ideas and methodologies for use by software teams.
- Serve as a knowledge leader in software design and functional knowledge across engineering disciplines, providing technical leadership to the program.
- Define requirements for and design complex new tools to aid in the analysis and solving of complex problems.
- Initiate cross-company collaboration and develop positive relationships with other engineering disciplines.
- Exercise judgment within broadly defined policies and practices when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results.
- Coordinate the activities of other personnel as needed.
- Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise, interact with management and senior customer personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines, and represent the organization as the principal customer contact, often performing project leadership.
- Preferred Education:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline. - Preferred
Work Experience:
Minimum of 8+ years of work experience, or 5 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree. - Key Skills and
Competencies:
Software design and architecture, code review, quality improvement, cross-functional collaboration, technical leadership, problem solving, and system integration of software and hardware.
