Mechanical Engineer
This position involves a dynamic blend of design and facilitation, with approximately 30% of the role dedicated to design tasks and 70% focused on facilitating and reviewing designs. You will be responsible for reviewing and performing linear pipeline designs and associated calculations, including regulator and equipment sizing. The role also includes verifying compliance with codes and standards, conducting quality checks, and reviewing manufacturer drawings.
You will prepare procurement specifications, construction documents, and bid evaluations, as well as participate in conceptual design studies, report writing, and material selection. Additionally, you will observe construction, participate in project meetings, and handle project permitting and other assigned tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Review and perform linear pipeline design and associated calculations.
- Verify code and standard compliance, conduct quality checks, and review manufacturer drawings.
- Prepare procurement specifications and construction documents, and evaluate bids.
- Conduct conceptual design studies and write reports.
- Select materials and equipment.
- Observe construction and participate in project meetings.
- Handle project permitting and other assigned tasks.
Essential
Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- EIT or PE certification.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
- Experience with natural gas pipelines and trenchless crossings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software, such as PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Auto Pipe.
Additional Skills &
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience in natural gas facility and pipeline projects.
- Experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
- Ability to mentor.
- Experience interfacing with Federal, State, and local agencies and community boards for project planning.
- Knowledge of oil and gas sector, including midstream, upstream, and downstream operations.
Work Environment:
The position offers a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days in the office per week, with four days preferred. The workday start time is flexible between 7 AM and 9 AM. This role involves approximately 20% travel, primarily within Colorado. The office is currently located downtown, with plans to expand to the DTC area by the end of 2026.

Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $61.00/hr.
