Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Petrophysicist/Geophysicist or Petrophysical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting petrophysical reservoir, geological, and seismic evaluations and analysis, providing technical expertise, and ensuring accurate and comprehensive petrophysical/geophysical assessments that contribute to the successful evaluation of oil and gas reservoirs.
Core Responsibilities- Interpret and analyze data from drilling and other sources to determine the presence and mobility of hydrocarbons in the reservoir, including evaluation and modeling of properties such as porosity and permeability.
- Gather and evaluate geological data from well logs, core samples, and seismic surveys to assess rock properties (porosity, permeability, fluid saturation).
- Integrate geophysical, geological, and petrophysical data to create reservoir models that support injection well management and new well development decisions.
- Perform well log analysis and core interpretation to identify injection zones, estimate reservoir volumes, and analyze confining zones, faults, and fractures.
- Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers to optimize drilling locations, production strategies, and reservoir management, and assess risk related to injection.
- Contribute to well planning and provide real‑time analysis during drilling operations.
- Prepare detailed petrophysical reports and present findings to management, clients, or stakeholders; document findings to aid decision‑making.
- Utilize specialized software (Petrel, Techlog, Excel) for data analysis, visualization, and modeling.
- Develop or adopt new techniques and tools to improve data collection and interpretation.
