Job Summary

Responsible for land development, residential, industrial, retail, mixed‑use, healthcare, educational, and recreational design technical tasks including conceptual site layout, utility design, roadway design, site grading, soil erosion and sedimentation control, floodplain studies, permitting and entitlement support, engineer’s opinions of probable cost, proposal assistance, and construction support.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare engineer’s opinion of probable cost and design calculations.
  • Maintain client relationships and prepare permit applications for applicable municipal agencies.
  • Prepare feasibility studies, master planning, and engineering designs for water, sanitary and storm sewer, paving, and detention facilities.
  • Assist in preparing proposals for engineering services, reviewing, and preparing project specifications.
  • Produce final construction drawings; mentor and train civil engineers; delegate specific project components.
  • Collaborate closely with other disciplines on multi‑discipline projects.
  • Manage project schedules, ensure timely completion, and participate in business development activities.
  • Represent the firm at client and municipal meetings/hearings; monitor project budgets, billing, and accounts receivable.
  • Perform other duties incidental to the work described herein.
Qualifications
  • PE license required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • 6+ years of experience in civil engineering.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four‑year college or university.

Skills & Abilities
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, handling abstract and concrete variables.
  • Outstanding writing, communications, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
Physical Demands

Frequent sitting, speaking, and hearing; occasional standing, walking, and use of hands to handle tools and controls; reaching with hands and arms; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Frequent lifting or moving of up to 10 lbs and occasional lifting or moving up to 25 lbs. Close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required.

Occasionally works in outside weather conditions, possibly for extended assignments.

Pay Range

$95,000 – $115,000 USD.
