ICT & Security Designer II

As part of HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, you’ll help design critical infrastructure that supports the digital age, shaping spaces where people work, connect, and thrive, and advancing technology, sustainability, and the human experience.

• Professionally represent HDR in client‑facing environments.
• Design inside and outside plant conveyances and cabling infrastructures for telecommunications systems.
• Design fully functioning and coordinated electronic security systems including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection.
• Take responsibility for a complete set of construction documents.
• Understand that assignments have objectives that require investigation of many variables.
• Independently perform security system/telecom engineering assignments with broad general instruction from the Project Manager.
• Write specifications covering all security system matters; perform reviews and work directly with owners as part of the project team.
• Assist other Designers, Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed, and be responsible for work in all phases of telecom and security design process.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• EIT or PE
• RCDD, OSP, DCDC
• PSP

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in security design and familiarity with Autodesk.
• RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer) and Electrical Engineering degree helpful.
