Robotics, Systems Engineer
We are looking for a Robotics Hardware Engineer with either a Mechanical or Electrical background to help design and build the next generation of Stridar unmanned ground vehicles. This role is highly hands‑on and will design a new generation of medium sized robotics, including integrating sensors, actuators, power systems, and embedded hardware into robotic platforms. This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on designing, integrating, and improving robotic hardware systems used in real‑world environments.
AboutStridar, Inc
STRIDAR develops affordable and scalable robotic solutions that operate safely beyond human reach. Our modular unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) are purpose‑built to support logistics, clearance, and mobility operations across military, civil, and commercial sectors. Our platform‑based hardware approach ensures rapid modifications and efficient servicing in the field, while our remote operations technology allows our robotic systems to collaborate seamlessly with human teams, enhancing operational performance.
DescriptionWhat you’ll do
- Develop new generations of robotic ground vehicle platforms, in all phases of the product development lifecycle, from early prototyping through production
- Design and develop robotic hardware components including actuators, sensors, power systems, and mechanical structures
- Integrate hardware from partners and military units
- Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless hardware and software integration
- Troubleshoot and debug systems and hardware components
- Support development of systems and repair instructions deployed in field and operational environments
- Stay current on emerging robotics technologies, sensors, and hardware innovations
- Contribute to continuous improvement of robotic platform performance, reliability, and scalability
- Support manufacturing with instructions, specifications and guidelines
- Identify vendors and work with the Operations team on sourcing and selection
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related field)
- Experience working on robotic systems in a lab, research group, robotics program, or industry role
- Strong understanding of robotic hardware and electromechanical systems
- Experience working with sensors, motors, actuators, or robotic control systems
- Ability to work in a hands‑on engineering environment
Candidates may be considered directly out of graduate school if they have:
- Strong academic performance
- A robotics‑focused curriculum or research track
- Meaningful robotics projects, research, or robotics competition experience
- Microcontrollers and embedded platforms
- Vehicle communication interfaces (CAN, SPI, UART, I2C)
- Sensor integration including LiDAR, cameras, IMU, or GPS
- Embedded systems development
- Building or integrating robotic prototypes
- Ruggedized or field robotics platforms
- Heavy outdoor machinery
- Compensation/Equity: $100k-$150k, equity included
- Location:
Denver, CO 80239 (Full-Time, Onsite) - This is a hands‑on, onsite engineering role working directly with physical robotic systems.
Due to the nature of our work and potential export control regulations, applicants must be U.S. persons, defined as U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (green card holders). Stridar is unable to sponsor employment visas for this position.
