Mechanical Project Engineer I & II – HVAC / Plumbing
We are partnering with an established mechanical and plumbing engineering firm that supports a diverse range of commercial projects, including education, municipal, hospitality, laboratory, recreation, and historic renovation work. The team offers a collaborative environment with hands‑on mentorship, strong project exposure, and the opportunity to contribute throughout the full design lifecycle.
We are seeking Mechanical Project Engineers at both the junior and mid‑level. The Project Engineer I position is ideal for an early‑career engineer looking to strengthen their technical foundation, while the Project Engineer II role is geared toward someone ready to take greater ownership of design, coordination, and project delivery.
Responsibilities- Design HVAC and plumbing systems from early concepts through construction documents
- Perform load calculations, equipment selection, system sizing, and energy analysis
- Develop system layouts, details, schedules, and specifications using Revit
- Coordinate designs with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
- Support RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and construction administration
- Assist with code research and ensure designs meet applicable standards
- Take increasing ownership of project coordination and delivery based on experience level
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- Project Engineer I:
Internship experience or up to 2 years of mechanical design experience - Project Engineer II: 2–5+ years of mechanical design experience within an MEP consulting environment
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, load calculations, and building codes
- Experience with Revit
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Commercial, multifamily, hospitality, or mixed‑use project experience
- EIT certification or progress toward professional licensure
- Experience with energy modeling or mechanical calculation software
- $70k-$100k (range across both levels, dependent on experience)
