What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $86,634 - $142,947. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site 3 days per week and off-site as needed. The Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency (CASR) requires 3 days in office at the Wellington Webb Municipal Building. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

The Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency's (CASR) vision is to build a carbon pollution free, sustainable, and resilient Denver for all. Guided by science and shaped by community input, CASR delivers bold solutions through policies, programs, and capital projects that reduce emissions, advance environmental justice, and strengthen climate resilience. Our portfolio includes beneficial electrification, energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy storage, climate adaptation, community resilience, nature-based solutions, natural resource conservation, embodied carbon, waste reduction and diversion, communications, community engagement, and workforce development-all with a strong focus on equity.

This work is driving measurable progress toward a healthier, more sustainable Denver for generations to come.

As an Energy Project Manager, you will be a key member of CASR's Climate Capital Projects team, reporting to the Senior Energy Project Manager in the Buildings or Vehicle Electrification group. You will be a highly motivated and innovative individual with the ability to effectively manage Denver's distributed energy resources, EV supply equipment, and implement energy efficiency and decarbonization initiatives across multiple agencies and facility management teams.

The Climate Capital Project team works on exciting and important decarbonization projects including:

* Innovative battery energy storage and microgrids to improve energy resilience and reduce municipal energy costs

* Dramatically increasing level 2 and level 3 EV charging capacity in the city to enable electrification of the Denver's 3,000+ vehicle fleet and foster widespread EV adoption

* Energy conservation and HVAC electrification across more than 160 facilities

* Demonstrating the potential for geothermal, sewer heat recovery, and district thermal energy networks to meet Denver's decarbonization goals.

Specifically, as an Energy Project Manager you will:

* Under supervision, be responsible for distributed energy resources, electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), energy efficiency, and HVAC electrification projects that involve coordination with a number of external and internal organizations. Projects will have a city-wide impact and require a strategic understanding of city agencies and city policies, standards, and systems.

* Review technical specifications, drawings, and submittals for conformity to project goals and requirements.

* Inspect in-progress and finished work in the field to ensure projects are completed to the defined specifications.

* Coordinate and direct the work of consultants and related personnel who have been assigned responsibility for various projects and/or portions of a project.
