What You’ll DoAs a Food Shield Engineer, you will take ownership of engineering projects from initial specifications through final release. You will:
- Create accurate, production-ready engineering drawings using Solid Works
- Translate customer requirements into practical, manufacturable design solutions
- Prioritize new drawings, revisions, releases, and sales drawings based on production deadlines
- Partner with Project Management to review specifications, resolve design questions, and keep projects moving

- Prepare complete release packages, including BOMs, chop lists, glass information, and custom-part drawings
- Support production teams with timely answers, solutions, and drawing updates
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, product functionality, and manufacturability
- Communicate professionally with internal teams and external customers throughout the project lifecycle
You are someone who takes ownership, manages competing priorities, and stays focused when deadlines are moving quickly. You bring strong mechanical aptitude, sound judgment, and the ability to turn incomplete or complex information into a workable solution.
Preferred qualifications include:- Two or more years of experience using engineering, mechanical, electrical, welding, or construction knowledge in a manufacturing environment; or
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with relevant manufacturing experience
- Two to three years of experience using Solid Works or comparable CAD software
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, assemblies, sheet-metal design, tolerances, and GD&T
- Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and time-management skills
- The ability to work independently while knowing when to bring in additional expertise
Your work will directly influence whether products are manufactured correctly, projects stay on schedule, and customers receive the solution they were promised. You will be a critical connection between customer expectations, engineering design, and successful production.
If you are looking for a hands‑on engineering position where your designs will have an immediate and visible impact, we want to hear from you.
