Job Description & How to Apply Below

Triax Engineering, a growing Colorado geotechnical engineering and materials testing firm, is hiring an experienced field technician to run testing and observation assignments independently on commercial, municipal, transportation, and infrastructure projects across the Denver metro area. You will be our on-site representative on significant projects, with the backing of our project managers, engineers, and laboratory.

What You’ll do
  • Independently perform field testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt (density, slump, air content, specimen prep, paving observation) on assigned projects.
  • Observe construction activities for general conformance with plans, specifications, and geotechnical recommendations; identify and communicate nonconforming conditions and failing results promptly.
  • Perform special inspections within your certification levels.
  • Prepare complete, accurate daily field reports that stand up to third-party review.
  • Represent Triax professionally with contractors, clients, and public agency representatives; help mentor entry-level technicians.
What You need
  • Minimum three years of relevant construction materials testing or inspection experience.
  • Current certifications such as ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, WAQTC or equivalent, ICC Special Inspector, CDOT materials certifications, and/or nuclear gauge safety certification.
  • Working knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, CDOT, and municipal testing requirements.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; ability to work outdoors year-round and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Sound independent judgment — knowing when to act and when to call the project manager or engineer.
Pay and Benefits

$27.00–$34.00 per hour based on experience, certifications, and demonstrated capability. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; paid time off and holidays; company vehicle or mileage reimbursement for field assignments; and paid training and certification renewal fees.
