Senior Acoustician
AECOM is seeking a Senior Acoustician to join our Acoustic team. This is a remote, part-time role (20 hours per week) that will be aligned with our Denver, CO office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, provincial and national regulations to ensure compliance. Work is performed with minimal direction.
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Responsible for advanced duties and activities in their specialized functional area.
- Conducts research and does investigation work as required.
- Plans and organizes project studies.
- Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures.
- Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems.
- May oversee the work of junior level staff.
Technical responsibilities include:
- Manage and deliver noise analysis tasks for major transportation, construction, energy, and development projects across the U.S.
- Perform and supervise predictive analyses with spreadsheet-based tools and commercially available software.
- Perform and supervise acoustical measurements, noise surveys, and investigations.
- Research and review regulatory criteria at the local, state, and national level.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in acoustics, engineering, physics, mathematics, or environmental policy (or closely related fields).
- 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in acoustical consulting, noise control engineering, building acoustics, and vibration.
- Due to the nature of work and clientele, US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in acoustics, engineering, physics, mathematics, or environmental policy.
- Board certification by the Institute of Noise Control Engineering.
- Prior business development experience is desired.
