Water Engineer

Start date:

End of August or early September

Location: Primarily in Denver, supporting a highly engaged team committed to operational excellence and innovative water solutions.

  • Willingness to travel to Midland, TX approximately 1–2 times per month for 2–3 day trips

Pay rate: $85 – $95 per hour.

Looking to make a meaningful impact in water resource management? We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Water Engineer to join a collaborative team supporting critical oil & gas operations.

This contract-to-hire opportunity offers a competitive pay rate of $86 – $95 per hour (based on 5+ years of experience), with potential for permanent placement after 6-12 months.

As a key member of our water resources team, you will leverage your expertise to support water management plans, water balances, forecasting, and supply planning. You’ll work closely with field personnel, managing water contracts and supporting construction, drilling, production, and completion activities. This role offers a unique chance to develop your skills within a fast-paced environment that emphasizes communication, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of water engineering experience, preferably in the oil & gas sector
  • Strong knowledge of water management, water balance, forecasting, and supply planning
  • Experience managing water contracts and contractor relationships
  • Ability to support construction, drilling, production, and completions
  • Excellent communication skills, proactive in asking questions, and comfortable collaborating with team members
  • Willingness to travel to Midland, TX approximately 1–2 times per month for 2–3 day trips

Nice to Have

Skills:

  • Experience supporting field operations directly
  • Familiarity with water treatment processes
  • Previous experience in a fast-moving operational environment

Preferred

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Oil & gas experience highly preferred
  • Candidates with 2–4 years of experience at a slightly lower compensation level are also encouraged to apply

Other Requirements:

  • Denver-based candidates preferred.
  • Ability to pass background checks and, upon transitioning to permanent, hair follicle drug screening
  • Willingness to be hands-on and participate in on-site activities to maintain operational awareness
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
