This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products.

To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for the transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be a crucial member of the Core Avionics organization within the Lunar Permanence business unit.

You will directly contribute to the successful development and delivery of avionics products for Lunar Vehicles, including flight computers, I/O units, embedded controllers, and associated electrical hardware. This is a hands‑on product engineering role. You will independently drive assigned hardware products or major product elements through the full lifecycle—from product requirements and architecture through design, build, integration, verification, qualification, production, and sustainment.

You will actively influence technical design decisions, work directly with manufacturers and suppliers, and lead hands‑on hardware testing and troubleshooting on the bench. You will partner closely with electrical hardware, mechanical engineering, embedded software, FPGA, controls, systems engineering, manufacturing, test, supply chain, and mission assurance teams to deliver safe, reliable, and manufacturable avionics products. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration by enabling affordable, safe, and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities
  • Own the development and delivery of assigned avionics hardware products or major product elements across the lifecycle, including requirements, interfaces, design, build, integration, verification, qualification, release, and sustainment.
  • Drive technical decisions, requirements decomposition, interface definition, trade studies, and product architecture activities for integrated avionics hardware.
  • Plan and execute hands‑on hardware integration, verification, qualification, and acceptance testing; troubleshoot test anomalies using electronic test equipment and drive issues to root cause and resolution.
  • Work directly with manufacturers and suppliers to support PCB assembly, box build, inspection, acceptance, nonconformance resolution, producibility improvements, and delivery of flight‑quality hardware.
  • Lead cross‑functional resolution of product design, interface, build, and test issues with electrical hardware, mechanical, embedded software, FPGA, controls, systems, manufacturing, and mission assurance partners.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another related technical field.
  • 6+ years of experience in the design, development, build, integration, test, or verification of avionics, electronic hardware, embedded systems, or comparable high‑reliability hardware products.
  • Demonstrated experience independently leading significant portions of the hardware development lifecycle, including requirements, design, build, test, verification, and release.
  • Experience developing or supporting digital, analog, and/or mixed‑signal hardware, including component selection, derating, tolerancing, schematic…
