Roadway Design Engineer

Consor North America, Inc. (Consor) is seeking a talented and motivated Roadway Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects throughout Colorado. Salary Range: $105,000-$150,000 annually (depending on experience) Compensation for candidates with significant experience beyond the minimum requirements may be considered above this range.

• Perform roadway design and engineering analysis for transportation projects, including horizontal and vertical alignments, corridor design, grading, typical sections, maintenance of traffic, and drainage coordination.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) in accordance with CDOT, AASHTO, and local agency requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including traffic, drainage, structures, utilities, lighting, landscape, and environmental professionals.
• Support project delivery by assisting with scope development, budgeting, scheduling, quality assurance, and quality control reviews.
• Prepare technical reports, design memoranda, calculations, and supporting documentation.
• Participate in client meetings, stakeholder coordination efforts, and project workshops.
• Assist with proposal development, technical approaches, scope writing, and fee estimates.
• Support the successful delivery of projects while maintaining quality standards, schedules, and budgets.
• Participate in mentoring, technical training, and professional development opportunities.

Required Credentials

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of roadway or transportation engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado or the ability to obtain PE licensure within 6 months.
• Experience applying AASHTO, CDOT, and local agency roadway design criteria.
• Proficiency with Micro Station/Open Roads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or comparable roadway design software (Civil 3D preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

• Experience delivering PS&E packages for municipal, county, or state transportation projects.
• Previous consulting experience supporting public-sector clients.
• Familiarity with project development procedures, design manuals, and standards for clients along the Front Range.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work products.
• Interest in developing leadership, mentorship, and project management skills.

This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines.
