Location & Schedule

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site in the field, as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their remote days.

In this position you can expect to work on site at least 3 days per week at the Wellington Webb Building (201 W. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80202) and occasionally at the Denver Wastewater Building (2000 W. 3rd Ave., Denver, CO 80223).

Few divisions within DOTI are involved in as broad and dynamic a range of projects, public space activities, and stakeholder engagement as Right-of-Way Services (ROWS). ROWS is responsible for regulatory review and permitting related to capital infrastructure and private development projects, construction permitting and inspection, land surveying, land use administration, and addressing services.

The Engineering Plan Review (EPR) Section within DOTI ROWS is comprised of more than 30 engineers who provide regulatory review services for private development and capital improvement projects proposing infrastructure within the public right-of-way. EPR is organized into three specialized teams focused on:

  • Transportation Engineering
  • Wastewater Engineering, including storm and sanitary sewer systems
  • Floodplain Management.

The EPR Transportation Engineering Team is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to lead and support a high-performing team responsible for upholding the division's rules, regulations, standards, and policies. This role will foster a collaborative culture built on trust, accountability, innovation, and team cohesion while ensuring the delivery of high-quality regulatory review services.

Specifically, as the Engineer Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise and manage workload for 8 to 10 professional engineers, providing guidance and technical expertise.
  • Develop goals, evaluate and document performance and provide performance feedback; provide reward and recognition for proper and efficient performance.
