Data Center Mechanical EIT

Location:

Denver, Colorado

Responsibilities
  • Assist in design of data center and mission‑critical projects under the direction of a licensed Mechanical Engineer.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with clients, project managers, mechanical team members, architects, other engineering disciplines, contractors, marketing members, and all other team members.
  • Develop feasibility reports, construction documents, specifications, engineering calculations, and perform RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, site investigations, and overall construction administration.
  • Support mechanical design, attend design meetings, aid mechanical discussions, and conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions with project managers, architects, and other disciplines.
  • Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
  • Provide construction support, including field observations, submittal and shop drawing reviews, and RFI assistance.
  • Coordinate workload throughout the project development to complete documents on schedule.
  • Travel to job sites or HDR offices as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
  • Attitude and commitment to being an active participant of an employee‑owned culture.
  • Minimum of 2 years of consulting engineering experience in the design of high‑reliability mechanical systems.
  • Experience in a data center or mission‑critical environment.
  • Working knowledge of Uptime Topology, ASHRAE TC 9.9, ASHRAE 90.4, ISO standards for PUE, CUE, and WUE.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong motivation, professional initiative, and focus on client outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, AFT Fathom (or similar piping analysis), a HVAC loads program such as IESVE, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Newforma Project Center or Project Wise Document Management Software.
  • Knowledge of Revit BIM modeling.
  • NCEES Registration (EIT).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Data Center/Mission‑Critical experience at an architectural or engineering consulting firm.
  • Strong desire to stay current with trends in the fast‑paced mission‑critical industry.
  • Experienced with industry certifications such as Uptime ATD.
  • Preferred local candidate.
