Position: Assistant Project Engineer (Summer Intern)

Description

The primary function of the Assistant Project Engineer is to assist the project team with some of the administrative and engineering functions associated with a particular construction project.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Technical Skills

  • Assist with job office set up
  • Assist the project team with the initial set up of CMiC, i.e. Submittal Log Registry
  • Prepare and maintain Submittal Logs
  • Assist the project team with the initial set up of Plan Grid to organize the contract documents for the teams use
  • Assist the project team with managing progress photo documentation via utilizing Plan Grid
  • Assist in entering RFI’s in CMiC and the distribution to appropriate project team members
  • Prepare and maintain RFI Logs in CMiC
  • Assist in posting RFI’s to Contract Documents and maintaining the accuracy of the projects as-builts
  • Assist with updating the Material Procurement Log and assist with expediting the procurement of all materials / equipment
  • Work with the projects PE(s), SPE(s) and APM(s) to compile contract close out documents (O&M manuals, As-Builts, etc.)
  • Attend project meetings and assist in the preparation / distribution of meeting minutes
  • Assist in the creation and organization of all closeout binders
  • Assist the project team with meeting minutes as needed

Management Skills

  • Assist with the procurement of close out submittals
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of punch lists and weekly maintenance in Plan Grid
  • Assist the Superintendent(s) with the maintenance of schedules
  • Assist in the procurement of all front-end Submittals
  • Assist in the Material Procurement process. Follow up with Subcontractors and Material Suppliers to ensure timely material deliveries to the site
