At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.

About the Role

At Blue Origin, we believe in the power of talented, dedicated people to push the boundaries of what's possible. We are seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join our COMSEC team within the Core Systems and Components group. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing and developing secure communication hardware systems that support our mission of making space accessible for the benefit of humanity.

You will work in close collaboration with Cybersecurity, Software, and FPGA Engineers to deliver robust, mission‑critical hardware solutions in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the design, development, and verification of electrical hardware for secure communications (COMSEC) systems
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Cybersecurity, Software, and FPGA engineering teams throughout the full hardware development lifecycle
  • Perform hands‑on fabrication, assembly, and testing of engineering-level hardware, including building and modifying wire harnesses, soldering components, and integrating sensor systems for rapid prototyping and troubleshooting.
  • Design for the space environment, applying principles of radiation hardening (TID, SEE) to ensure system reliability. Perform analysis and select components to meet mission radiation requirements.
