NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, and technical support to the Environmental Protection Agency through the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Sciences or Computer Science, or related fields. OR BA/BS Degree in Engineering, Sciences, Chemistry, Hydrology, Geology or related fields.

Duties

Assist with the direct implementation of the National Primary Drinking Water Regulations in Wyoming and tribal lands. Responsibilities include assessing, evaluating and tracking compliance data, reports and information received from public water systems for the disinfection byproduct drinking water regulations; creating and evaluating reports and providing recommendations to EPA regarding compliance determinations.

  • Critically review information submitted to EPA by water systems, evaluate and assess for consistency, accuracy and completeness. Confirm information as needed with the water systems to obtain complete and accurate information. Enter water system information into the database or tracking spreadsheets.

  • Query the drinking water database to research and obtain information about the requirements for specific water systems. Create reports, sort, evaluate and analyze data. Provide recommendations and information to the EPA rule manager to assist with compliance decisions.

  • Conduct research and evaluations regarding Disinfection ByProduct (DBP) activities in drinking water systems among the Region 8 states.

  • Research, advise and respond to inquiries from water systems regarding regulatory requirements. Provide assistance to water systems to improve compliance with the regulations.
