Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function for a growing manufacturing business. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory control, budgeting, and operational finance support while ensuring strong internal controls and compliance.

The Financial Controller will act as a key business partner to operations and leadership, providing financial insight to improve margins, drive efficiency, and support strategic decision-making.

• Lead month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and management reporting
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
• Manage audit processes and external advisors

• Oversee standard costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting
• Monitor inventory valuation, WIP, and overhead absorption
• Partner with operations to improve cost visibility and plant performance
• Support pricing and quoting through accurate cost modeling

• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts
• Track performance against budget and provide variance explanations
• Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management
• Manage and develop accounting staff (AP, AR, payroll, staff accountants)
• Improve processes and automate reporting where possible

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and local tax requirements
• Support ERP systems
• Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and reporting tools

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Progressive accounting/finance experience
• Manufacturing or industrial accounting experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, and finance
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
