Walton Enterprises is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as Senior Associate, Tax. The ideal teammate will have the demonstrated ability to perform detailed review and preparation of complex tax returns, support planning and advisory projects, and mentor junior associates within a collaborative and dynamic tax team.
About the PositionThe Senior Tax Associate will join a high-performing team and contribute to the preparation and review of individual, fiduciary, partnership, estate, gift, and nonprofit returns. This role will also assist with planning projects, consult with family clients on opportunities and implications, and support junior staff through training and mentoring. The Senior Associate will provide critical research and analysis to help principals make well‑informed tax and financial decisions.
Whatyou will do
The Senior Associate balances execution of compliance responsibilities with opportunities to provide planning insights. The role reviews returns, conducts research, supports strategy discussions, and develops junior talent while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and value‑added service delivery.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, businesses, trusts, estates, and philanthropic entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance across jurisdictions.
- Conduct detailed research on tax regulations and planning opportunities, offering analysis to support strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and family clients to collect, verify, and analyze financial data for filings and planning projects.
- Support audits and inquiries by preparing documentation, coordinating responses, and ensuring timely communication with authorities.
- Mentor and train junior associates, providing feedback and technical guidance to enhance team performance.
- Contribute to department‑wide initiatives that improve accuracy, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Assist in evaluating tax strategies and their implications for family members, trusts, and philanthropic entities.
- Maintain awareness of changing tax laws, regulations, and trends affecting high‑net‑worth individuals and family offices.
- Prepare concise reports and summaries to support management and client decision‑making.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with a 3.25 major GPA or higher
- Master's degree in Accounting, Tax, Business Administration or Juris Doctor preferred
- CPA certification or CPA Exam Eligible preferred
- 4+ years experience in tax accounting or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive client relationships
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with tax preparation and tax research software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
