We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our fast-paced construction company. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, providing strategic insights, and driving financial performance. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned financial professional with a strong background in the construction industry, looking to make a significant impact on the financial health and strategic direction of our company.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Manage the processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
3. Coordinate and direct the preparation of budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
4. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
5. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
6. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
7. Support month-end and year-end close processes.
8. Ensures quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
9. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
10. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
11. Additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
3. Minimum 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
4. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller in the construction industry.
5. Advanced knowledge of accounting and financial operations.
6. Proficient in accounting software, MS Excel, and other business-related software.
7. Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
8. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to drive and influence team members.
9. Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills.
10. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
11. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
12. Knowledge of construction accounting software and job costing is highly desirable.
