This role will focus on state and local taxation for indirect tax matters for KUKA and its subsidiaries. This will include review of customer transactions to determine applicable sales and use taxation. There will be opportunities to prepare state and local income tax returns as well as other tax projects. This is a hybrid role so candidate MUST BE local to Denver, Colorado.
2 days in office each week is required.
- Prepare and file returns for Sales, Use, GST-HST-PST, and Property Tax returns
- Resolve any Sales and Use tax processing issues
- Review contracts with customers and suppliers for appropriate sales/use tax treatment
- Manage software implementations (e.g. Vertex Cloud) for the Sales-Use tax area
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in the tax compliance process and implement them efficiently, in collaboration with other internal stakeholders
- Manage the Tax Exemption certificate process
- Assist with indirect tax audits and appeals
- Analyze and minimize sales tax risk exposure
- Prepare the reconciliation of sales, use, property and GST-HST tax accounts
- Keep current on regulatory developments in the Indirect Tax area, as well as any tax legislation or court cases that impact particularly Sale-Use taxes
- Manage business licenses and annual reports as necessary
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- At least 3 years relevant experience, preferably in a large corporation or a large public accounting firm
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience in GAAP and IFRS accounting
- Strong background of Vertex Cloud or another Sales Use software
- Expert in Excel and other Microsoft products
- Must be able to analyze tax issues and accounting records
- Be able to manage multiple projects at once and reprioritize tasks as needed, ensuring deadlines are never missed
- Self-starter with hands‑on working style and effective time management, organizational, and teaming skills.
- Ability and desire to learn and communicate effectively to management.
- Knowledge of state income tax returns
- Proficiency in SAP
