A leading middle‑market investment bank is seeking a highly motivated Investment Banking Associate to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, transaction experience, and the ability to manage deal processes in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment. This role provides significant exposure to senior bankers, clients, and live transactions across a diverse set of industries.
Location: Denver
Responsibilities- Lead financial analysis and modeling
, including detailed valuations (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions), leveraged buyout modeling, and accretion/dilution analysis. - Support execution of M&A, debt, and Special Situations transactions
, including process management, due diligence, data room oversight, and coordination with legal, accounting, and other advisors. - Prepare high‑quality client materials
, such as pitch books, CIMs (Confidential Information Memoranda), management presentations, board materials, and industry analyses. - Conduct in‑depth industry and company research to support business development and transaction execution.
- Manage and mentor analysts
, providing oversight on modeling, materials, and workflow prioritization. - Engage directly with clients
, contributing to strategic dialogue, presenting analyses, and supporting negotiations. - Work closely with senior bankers to originate and execute new business opportunities.
- Ensure process excellence
, maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism across all work streams.
- 2-5 years of prior experience in investment banking.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field;
MBA or other advanced degree preferred but not required
. - Strong command of financial modeling
, valuation methodologies, and corporate finance principles. - Exceptional proficiency in Excel and Power Point ; experience with financial databases (Capital IQ, Pitch Book, Fact Set) a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear outputs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work streams under tight timelines with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort interacting with senior executives and clients.
- Highly motivated, intellectually curious, and entrepreneurial mindset.
