Overview
Commercial Real Estate Appraisal Reviewer position focused on reviewing appraisal reports prepared by reporting appraisers to ensure compliance with USPAP, client engagement requirements, and internal firm standards. The reviewer collaborates with producing appraisers and leadership to strengthen analytical rigor, improve reporting standards, and support firmwide QA/QC initiatives. The role provides exposure to a wide range of property types including office, industrial, multifamily, retail, hospitality, and specialty assets.
Responsibilities- Perform technical reviews of commercial appraisal reports across multiple property types, evaluating analyses, opinions, and conclusions for logical consistency, methodological soundness, and supportability.
- Ensure appraisal reports comply with USPAP requirements, client guidelines, and firm reporting standards.
- Review market analysis, highest and best use conclusions, valuation methodology, and reconciliation.
- Provide clear, constructive review comments that improve report quality and analytical support.
- Track recurring review comments and identify opportunities for report format and template improvements.
- Support firmwide initiatives related to USPAP, Appraisal Institute, Yellow Book, and client compliance standards.
- Assist in maintaining internal review scoring and feedback systems used in appraiser performance assessments.
- Consolidate feedback from external client reviews and recommend reporting improvements.
- Partner with leadership and technology teams to improve review efficiency and reporting processes.
- Certified general real estate appraiser license required.
- MAI designation preferred.
- 5+ years of commercial real estate appraisal review experience.
- Working knowledge of reviewing Argus files.
- Deep working knowledge of USPAP standards and institutional appraisal reporting requirements.
