This is a great opportunity to be a valued business advisor delivering industry-focused tax advisory and compliance services to middle market clients.
Responsibilities- Lead client relationships on day-to-day tax matters with various clients ranging from middle market to multinational.
- Consult on technical matters and special projects in various areas of corporate and flow-through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC
740. - Research various tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and make recommendations to the client.
- Coordinate with specialty tax practices on complicated tax matters (state and local, high net worth, international, research and development, credits and incentives).
- Manage client engagement staffing, billing/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
- Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with the goal of acquiring new clients, projects and revenue.
- Invest in your professional development individually and through participation in firm-wide learning and development programs.
- Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goals.
- 4-year degree, CPA, Law License, or Enrolled Agent.
- 8 years of experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a professional services firm.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
- Demonstrated management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project-management, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, have a sense of urgency and commitment to quality, and exhibit ethical knowledge and a sense of urgency.
- Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or law, or a similar degree in business; a master’s or advanced degree desirable.
- CPA or EA required.
- Eight (8)+ years’ experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a professional services firm.
The compensation range for this role is $130,000 to $196,200. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
