VP/Broker II, Financial Services Group

We are looking for a Broker II within Aon Commercial Risk Solutions' Financial Services Group (FSG) to develop and implement strategic risk management solutions for large, global clients. The role includes design, marketing, and service management of insurance programs across various industry sectors.

This hybrid position is based in Denver, CO.

• Assess client needs, design solutions, and negotiate with insurance carriers to obtain coverage in the client’s best interests.
• Develop and manage client relationships, account strategies, and insurance marketing activities for the book of business; act as primary negotiator for optimal insurance programs.
• Work closely with Team Leaders, Producers, Account Executives, and other client‑facing team members to understand and deliver on client needs.
• Identify and analyze client exposures, with routine assistance from junior colleagues, to develop effective risk treatment and placement strategies.
• Obtain the most appropriate coverage by developing and executing a structure and strategy in conjunction with the client.
• Serve as a source of information on market trends, pricing practices, and underwriting policies; participate in development of department policies and procedures.
• Provide guidance to more junior staff and advise on the growth of personal book of business.
• Work independently on complex accounts with minimal supervision; direct, place, and service mid‑size accounts.

The broker will be instrumental in analyzing clients’ exposures to mitigate risk and coordinate placement and day‑to‑day account activities.

• Attention to detail, ability to multitask, exceptional organizational skills, and decision communication.
• Minimum of 3+ years of financial lines brokerage/underwriting experience with focus on D&O Liability, Employment Practices, Fiduciary, Crime, and Special Risk.
• Solid understanding of carrier underwriting practices & processes.
• Leadership skills in team environments and client‑facing, all while exceeding expectations.
• Effective presentations and communications skills.
• Organization and collaboration ability.
• Experience in resource deployment and utilization management.
• Strong interpersonal skills at various levels.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, multi‑task environment.
• Sales experience preferred; finance background a plus.
• Must maintain an appropriate broker’s license.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.

The salary range for this position (U.S. applicants) is $118,700–$197,900 annually. The actual salary may vary based on education, experience, skills, abilities, internal equity and market data, and may be adjusted for geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in Aon’s annual incentive plans, potentially receiving a discretionary bonus. The amount varies and is subject to the applicable incentive plan terms.
