Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support accounting operations within our Natural Gas business. This role is responsible for monthly close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, regulatory reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with operational and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Prepare accurate and timely journal entries during the monthly close process.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support quarterly and annual regulatory reporting, including FERC filings.
• Prepare monthly and annual EIA reports.
• Assist with monthly forecasting and budgeting activities.
• Conduct quarterly flux and variance analyses.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and analyses.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.
• Collaborate effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Fundamental understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• 1 to 3 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with in the energy, utilities, natural gas, or related industries.
• Familiarity with Oracle and/or Quorum Connect.
