Director of Finance And Accounting

CB Partners is working with a growing, privately held organization in the energy and industrial services space to identify a Director of Finance & Accounting. This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, offering direct involvement in strategic decision‑making and a clear path toward executive‑level leadership.

• Lead all core accounting and finance functions, including financial reporting, cash flow oversight, and operational finance
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage cash flow forecasting and ensure visibility into liquidity and business performance
• Partner directly with executive leadership to support strategic decision‑making and growth initiatives
• Act as the primary liaison for banks, investors, and external stakeholders
• Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and ongoing variance analysis
• Prepare and present materials for board and investor reporting
• Evaluate existing accounting processes and internal controls; implement improvements and scalable solutions
• Oversee full‑cycle AP/AR processes and treasury functions
• Manage external accounting partners and ensure alignment across reporting and compliance
• Develop financial models and reporting tools to support operational analysis and planning
• Provide insights into project‑level performance through job costing and profitability analysis
• Support vendor negotiations and contract evaluation through financial analysis
• Assist with payroll oversight and benefits coordination
• Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and ongoing team development

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA and/or MBA preferred
• 8–10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance
• Strong experience across financial reporting, FP&A, and operational finance
• Background in energy, oil & gas, industrial services, or similar industries preferred
• Proven ability to operate effectively in a small, fast‑paced business environment
• Hands‑on experience with process improvement and systems optimization
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills (Advanced Excel required; BI tools a plus)
• Deep understanding of GAAP and financial management principles
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally
