Job Summary
Manages and performs accounting functions in conjunction with the Director of Finance. Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting and protects company assets. Implements company and department policies and procedures related to financial management. Performs all responsibilities in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including the Colorado Limited Gaming Act, Internal Control Minimum Procedures, and internal policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain a safe work environment and follow safety procedures.
- Attend work as scheduled, on time and ready.
- Manage accounting activities and produce financial and statistical reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Supervise staff responsible for accounts payable, recording of revenue and expenses, fixed asset activity, inventory, etc.
- Oversee accounts payable processes and ensure accurate, timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Ensure timely payment of gaming taxes and other regulatory fees.
- Assist in accurate financial reporting and participate in quarterly and year‑end audits performed by external auditors.
- Post all journal entries and maintain general and subsidiary ledgers, including the fixed assets ledger.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts each month and close accounting records timely.
- Review and interpret unusual transactions, adjustments, or unexpected financial results to determine appropriate accounting treatment or follow‑up.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
- Report to the Director of Finance with accurate and timely work.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
- Three (3) or more years of recent and related accounting experience, including managerial experience.
- Preferred experience working in the gaming industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience using various accounting software products, including General Ledger and Excel.
- Ability to learn other accounting software programs as necessary.
- Ability to perform within specific deadlines and under pressure.
- Well‑organized with strong problem‑solving and prioritizing skills.
$65,000+ annually based on experience.
