Kava Equity Partners is the direct private equity investment arm of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe Growth Fund, which itself is the business arm of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe. POSITION SUMMARY

This position will report to the Managing Director and actively participate in sourcing, underwriting, structuring, and closing lower middle market private equity investments. As part of a lean investment team, the Associate will be expected to take a proactive approach and will have the opportunity to participate in every aspect of the investment process including acquisitions, portfolio management, and divestments. This position will work closely with the Managing Director and other investment team members but will also be expected to operate independently with a degree of autonomy on assigned projects.

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering or similar field OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering or similar field and 2 years’ experience in private equity, late-stage venture capital, investment banking, management consulting or related field is required.
  • Strong financial accounting and modeling skills.
  • High level of dependability, with the ability to prioritize and remain focused on agreed-upon goals while working independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in written format and prepare concise, written investment recommendation reports.
  • Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
