Your impact
Help ensure Newmont meets its tax obligations while supporting business performance through accurate tax reporting, compliance, and analysis. In this role, you will contribute to Newmont's tax processes, identify opportunities for process improvement, work with various taxing jurisdictions and provide valuable insights that support sound financial and operational decisions.
As part of our team, you will
- Coordinate the preparation of the regional income tax returns and supporting schedules.
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual tax compliance and reporting activities.
- Review indirect tax returns and provide tax-related guidance to business stakeholders.
- Support quarterly tax calculations, installments, and reporting activities.
- Review and maintain tax fixed asset records to optimize tax positions.
- Develop and improve technology-enabled tax processes and reporting methods.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and accounting standards and assess their impact.
- Partner with finance teams, tax professionals, auditors, and external advisors.
- Support tax authority inquiries, audits, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Ensure SOx compliant work papers are prepared and maintained.
Prerequisites for your success in this role
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certification or advanced degree preferred (CPA, CTA, or similar).
- Experience in corporate tax compliance, reporting, or public accounting. Strong knowledge of tax regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and complex formulas.
- Experience with tax and ERP systems such as Corptax and SAP.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to identify process improvements and leverage technology solutions, including AI-enabled tools.
Your work environment
This is an individual contributor role within Newmont's Tax team, working closely with regional and corporate finance partners, tax professionals, auditors, and external advisors. You will operate in a collaborative environment focused on compliance excellence, continuous improvement, and responsible business practices. Collaboration and interaction are expected with teams across the global, regional, and site organization as well as across other service and operational areas of Newmont across multiple time zones.
The preferred location for candidates is near our corporate headquarters, in Denver, Colorado; however highly qualified candidates near our regional offices, or any of our site locations, will be considered. The listed salary range applies to positions based in Colorado. Compensation may vary for candidates hired in other locations.
The salary range offered for this role is USD $106,. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
