Tax – Indirect Tax – Sales and Use – Senior

Key Responsibilities
  • Identifying opportunities for tax optimization, credits, and refund recovery, as well as exposure reduction.
  • Managing indirect tax strategies, compliance processes, remediation, controversies, and corrective filings.
  • Supporting tax process reviews and technology transformation to enhance service offerings.
  • Make decisions based on broad policies, applying personal knowledge and experience to resolve issues.
  • Implement procedures and guidelines, often working on complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation.
  • Analyze an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights.
  • Identify potential opportunities and risks and communicate to clients.
  • Research current market trends to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor.
  • Develop clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve clients’ tax activities.
  • Research clients’ business operations and build long‑lasting relationships to tailor advice.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional knowledge in sales and use tax processes, concepts and tools.
  • Proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.
  • Technical writing and research experience in tax context.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple complex projects.
  • Strong influencing skills and confidence to question existing processes.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and ability to work in a hybrid environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in tax legislation and impact assessment.
  • Proficiency in tax planning and optimization.
  • Knowledge of audit quality and remediation techniques.
  • Ability to drive process improvement and optimization.
  • Experience in operating model design and analysis.
  • Understanding of data quality, accounting principles, and standards.
  • Skills in risk mitigation and data analysis/interpretation.
  • Knowledge of tax compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Awareness of sustainability drivers and mega trends.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships.
  • Strong communication skills with impact.
  • Complex problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Proven ability to drive outcomes and demonstrate learning agility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA qualification, US Bar membership, or certification such as Institute for Professionals in Taxation or CMI designation.
  • Experience assisting in completion of RFP responses.
  • Experience tracking resource plans and budgets.
  • Experience maintaining reports for engagement economics.

  • Comprehensive compensation and benefits package, with base salary range $81,700 to $135,000 nationwide. Adjusted for specific markets.
