Position Overview
The role focuses on internal reporting for Ares’ national multifamily portfolio. The analyst will align analytical standards, deliver executive‑ready insights, and support investment partners and internal stakeholders.
Essential Duties- Portfolio Reporting & Executive Insights
- Manage monthly operating report (MOR) and quarterly performance report (QPR) cycles to deliver financial and operational insights.
- Standardize reporting frameworks across assets, ownership groups, and funds.
- Own and ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy.
- In collaboration with Asset Managers and Regional Analysts, lead the aggregation of executive‑level commentary to inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and articulate trends, themes, and takeaways for decision making across teams including Investments, Portfolio Management, and Due Diligence.
- Operational & Financial Performance Management
- Develop, enhance, and maintain unified reporting across PMS, accounting, and market data sources.
- Consolidate, analyze, and present Financial KPIs: revenue, expenses, NOI with GL detail.
- Consolidate, analyze, and present Operational KPIs: leasing trends, rent trends, and capital/business plan execution.
- Partner with Asset Management on benchmarking, forecasting, budgeting, and portfolio‑wide variance analysis.
- Collaborate and share insights with internal stakeholders.
- Data Quality & Platform Evolution
- Develop, enhance, and maintain dashboards and data pipelines across BI platforms, emphasizing real‑time reporting and availability.
- Advance automation to improve cycle time and reliability.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Stakeholder Engagement (Internal & External)
- Serve as the analytics liaison to support internal teams and leadership.
- Present portfolio performance and key findings to executive forums and ownership groups.
- 10+ years in multifamily analytics, asset management reporting, or BI/systems leadership.
- Demonstrated success managing enterprise reporting cycles and executive stakeholder communications.
- Advanced proficiency with Power BI, DAX/Power Query, SQL, and Excel.
- Familiarity with market analytics platforms and property operating systems.
- Experience with in a vertically integrated real estate investment platform.
- Executive‑level communication and narrative building.
- Portfolio performance analytics and KPI design, real‑time data.
- Data architecture, governance, and dashboard strategy.
- Cross‑functional influence and collaborative leadership.
- High standards of accuracy, consistency, and stewardship.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Real Estate Equity – Asset Management.
CompensationBase salary range: $190,000 – $225,000 per year, with potential discretionary performance‑based bonus.
