Budget Analyst – Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's Prevention Services Division
The Budget Analyst position within the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's Prevention Services Division manages budgeting, tracking, monitoring, and reporting for assigned branch programs and grants. The role provides budgetary and financial support to division management, evaluates program funding needs, and prepares budget analysis and data for state budget offices and legislative review. This position independently uses professional judgment to align available resources with program priorities and manages over $200 million in division-wide expenditures.
KeyQualifications
- Six years of professional experience as an accountant, budget analyst, financial analyst, bookkeeper, or closely related field
- Public sector budgeting experience
- Knowledge of fiscal regulations and experience with CORE or another financial system
- Financial analysis and forecasting capability
- Grant lifecycle management experience
- Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
