Job SummaryPersonal Bankers engage clients in deeper conversations to uncover needs and provide guidance and solutions to assist in client financial wellness, both in person and via proactive calling. This role attracts new clients to Key and works with existing clients to expand relationships based on their unique financial goals, fostering confidence in their finances.
Essential Functions- Embodies a strong client experience culture, being present with every client and teammate and realizing the impact on their day, personally, professionally, and financially.
- Listen for clues for financial wellness opportunities during in‑person and telephone conversations and provide effective, customized recommendations.
- Consistently attain individual activity, behavior, and outcome goals and expectations.
- Open personal and business accounts (consumer checking, small business, various deposit products, home equity, unsecured lending, certificates of deposit, etc.).
- Develop strong partnerships with branch teammates and line‑of‑business partners, focusing on client acquisition and deepening current relationships, and managing internal and external centers of influence.
- Ensure compliance with operational, risk, security, and audit procedures and policies, including appropriate documentation of client interactions.
- Support branch operations, including assisting with client transactions on the teller line as needed.
- Participate in and occasionally facilitate in‑person morning huddles and end‑of‑day debriefs.
- Work on Saturdays as directed by management.
- Perform other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Comply with all Key Bank policies and procedures, including acting professionally, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent business experience (required) or Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
Work ExperienceMinimum of 1 year of experience in developing current and new customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and building referral sources. Experience with sales is more important than financial services experience.
Licenses and CertificationsNotary License (preferred).
Skills- Knowledgeable about the client’s accounts and business with the bank and uses sound judgment with clients and transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to attain sales and referral goals through preset appointments and quality conversations that support clients’ financial wellness goals.
- Strong work ethic, high integrity, and excellent time‑management skills.
- Building and nurturing relationships with clients, identifying potential clients, engaging, and developing strategies to convert them into long‑term clients.
- Attentiveness to client needs, prompt issue resolution, and ensuring a positive banking experience.
- Ability to evaluate financial information to understand clients’ financial health, identify investment opportunities, and recommend strategies.
- Understanding and managing risks associated with banking operations and client transactions.
- Strong verbal and non‑verbal communication skills.
- Accurate and efficient handling of cash transactions.

Physical DemandsConsumer Retail:
Prolonged standing (5–8 hours per day), frequent use of hands, ability to communicate face‑to‑face and on the phone, occasional bending and lifting from floor height, frequent forward reach, lifting 1–10lbs and occasionally up to 30lbs.
Ability to routinely and frequently operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver’s license.
Compensation and BenefitsThis position is eligible to earn a base hourly rate in the range of $20.67–$31.25 per hour. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon skills, experience, and geographic location. Compensation includes incentive compensation, which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives. Benefits include a comprehensive list of programs available to this position.
