This role partners closely with Commercial Relationship Managers to evaluate new and existing credit opportunities, structure transactions, and provide sound credit recommendations that support long-term client relationships while maintaining strong portfolio quality.

The ideal candidate brings a solid commercial credit foundation with experience analyzing commercial real estate and commercial & industrial transactions. This individual enjoys working directly with lenders, thinking critically about credit risk, and contributing to a collaborative credit culture where decisions are made close to the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze commercial loan requests, including commercial real estate, construction, owner-occupied real estate, investment real estate, and C&I transactions.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit presentations, financial analyses, and risk assessments.
  • Evaluate borrower and guarantor financial statements, tax returns, global cash flow, debt service coverage, and collateral.
  • Assess transaction structure, repayment sources, covenant compliance, and overall credit risk.
  • Partner with Commercial Relationship Managers throughout the underwriting process while providing thoughtful credit recommendations.
  • Assist with renewals, modifications, annual reviews, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
  • Ensure credit packages comply with bank policy and regulatory expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with lenders and credit leadership throughout the approval process.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of commercial underwriting, credit analysis, or portfolio management experience.
  • Experience underwriting commercial real estate and commercial & industrial loans.
  • Strong understanding of commercial financial statement analysis and cash flow analysis.
  • Ability to analyze complex credit relationships and communicate recommendations clearly.
  • Experience working within a community or regional bank environment preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.

What Makes This Opportunity Attractive

  • Collaborative community banking culture with direct interaction between lenders and credit.
  • Diverse portfolio including commercial real estate, construction, C&I, multifamily, and agricultural lending.
  • Strong credit quality and disciplined underwriting philosophy.
  • Opportunity to make meaningful contributions while supporting experienced commercial lending teams.
  • Stable, well-capitalized institution with a long-term relationship banking focus.
