Your impact

The Financial Governance / Cost Management Deputy supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of financial governance practices across the Energy and Power Program Management Team. This role develops and analyzes financial reports, identifies trends and risks, and partners with program leadership to ensure adherence to established governance frameworks, financial controls, and organizational objectives.

The successful candidate reviews financial processes, data, and reporting methodologies, recommending improvements that enhance transparency, accountability, compliance, and decision‑making. This position requires the ability to translate complex financial and business issues into clear, actionable information for a variety of audiences. The Deputy champions best practices and standardized processes that strengthen both client‑facing and internal financial governance activities.

Technical/Functional Responsibilities:
  • Support the execution and continuous improvement of financial governance frameworks, processes, and controls across assigned programs.
  • Partner with leadership and stakeholders to drive compliance with financial governance requirements and organizational policies.
  • Organises financial data, reports, graphs and other material in a logical format and executes reporting as needed on a regular interval
  • Analyzes financial performance, budgets, forecasts, and cost data to identify trends, risks, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Compares data to established norms to verify consistent updates and validity to baseline data
  • Reviews published reports, materials and recommend revisions or changes in data, format, or content
  • Performs data analysis and organizes data for ease of viewing via software tools
  • Recommends and implements financial governance improvements that enhance financial transparency, accountability, efficiency, and decision‑making.
  • Monitors program financial performance and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and address variances.
  • Coordinates stakeholder feedback and ensure timely completion of governance actions and deliverables.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience with strong emphasis on communication, business, finance or accounting preferred, others considered.
  • 8-12 years’ experience as a business or financial analyst with demonstrated work products.
  • Ability to work in teams and actively participate in decision‑making.
  • Capable of analysing complex issues and evaluating alternatives to achieve quality solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are critical, including the ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Must have the ability to contribute in a team environment and work across multiple departments.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to track and prioritise numerous simultaneous tasks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting and forecasting, accounting concepts, and auditing and reconciling multiple invoices and multiple budgets.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
