The Credit Portfolio Manager partners with assigned Relationship Manager(s) to successfully manage Corporate Banking credit account relationships. Grows revenue as directed by senior management by successfully closing new business relationships and retaining and expanding relationships with existing customers. Sustains profitability and growth of unit(s). Provides strategic direction and leadership to pursue objectives of unit(s). Creates and maintains cost-effective programs for unit(s).

PCGAM – Private Equity

Summary:

The Private Capital & Global Asset Management Group – Private Equity (PCGAM – PE) covers a range of asset managers predominantly focused on private equity strategies. PCGAM - PE is a national platform comprised of ~20 professionals throughout the country with a primary presence in New York, Minneapolis and Portland. The Private Capital & Acquisition Finance Group (PCAF) is a specialized lending arm within PCGAM that focuses on providing a multitude of senior debt products to middle market and large-cap private equity sponsors to execute acquisitions, mergers, recapitalizations, and other growth initiatives within the private equity universe.

Position

Description:

U.S. Bank PCAF is seeking a motivated individual to add as a Senior Underwriter to the underwriting and portfolio management team. This individual will be a vital member of the team serving as the lead individual on underwriting new transactions, managing deal team junior portfolio managers and managing execution of the new transaction from initial read, underwriting, approval through closing. The Senior Underwriter will also oversee a sub-set of assigned portfolio companies / borrowers as part of ongoing portfolio management and serve as a lead underwriter on material portfolio credit actions.

- Perform and review / oversee (junior PMs work) LBO / financial modeling (historical and pro forma cash flow and credit analysis modeling; DCF, sensitivity modeling) to facilitate evaluation of new transaction opportunities and ongoing portfolio review/monitoring.

- Lead prospective borrower diligence and transaction review / underwriting.

- Serve as a senior liaison between relationship management, credit risk management, and business line leadership on transaction execution.

- Prepare recommendations for the extension (or non-extension) of credit utilizing key investment thesis and risk-managed decision-making.

- Serve as the primary presenter to business line leadership and credit risk management as it relates to credit recommendations and management.

- Lead credit agreement legal documentation review and negotiation process in concert with internal and external counsel.

- Lead and identify deteriorating / troubled-credit identification and key recommendations regarding credit / asset management.

- Quarterly monitoring reports and provide internal credit rating recommendations based on borrower performance.

- Prepare and assist in the presentation of new opportunity screening memos and new borrower credit approval memos / write-ups, as well as preparing and presenting amendment / incremental financing recommendations.

- Conduct borrower market diligence, borrower financial analysis, assessing key credit risk, to determine appropriate credit recommendations as part of the new borrower evaluation process.

- Develop an understanding for credit / underwriting policy and maintain accountability of oversight for assigned portfolio and quality of underwriting.
