Salary GS-7 $ 56,262.00--$73,142.00 GS-9 $ 68,819.00--$89,470.00 GS-11 $ 83,265.00--$ Additional selections may be made from this announcement to fill positions within the same division when the position includes substantially the same duties, responsibilities, and qualifications.
JOB SUMMARY Performs financial management functions including accounting, budgeting, and reporting; reviews and monitors expenditures, ensures the proper supporting documentation is valid, applies reconciliation processes to align funds with congressional intent and the FBI mission; extracts financial data, applies statistical logic across transactions, maintains internal controls, audits accounts, and ensures compliance with policy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work is performed in an office setting that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings and/or conferences.
MAJOR DUTIES: GS-7:
- Performs a variety of financial management work to include accounting, budget, and financial reporting.
- Classifies expenses; monitors expenditure rates; and maintains records of obligations and expenditures within budgeted funds for specific accounts.
- Applies reconciliation techniques toward budgets and ensures monies are utilized in a manner consistent with congressional intent and the FBI's mission.
- Extracts financial data from various reports; and/or applies statistical logic necessary for budget formulation of requests.
GS-9: (in addition to the above)
- Performs various budget analysis activities, using efficient and effective methods to reconcile accounts and formulate costing.
- Conducts monthly reconciliations of undercover accounts and program specific funding.
- Establishes and maintains effective internal controls over financial reporting methods which include safeguarding of assets and complying with appropriate laws and regulations.
GS-11: (In addition to the above)
- Formulate strategies regarding the interpretation of Office of Management and Budget (OMB) directives and circulars; extracts financial data from various reports.
- Monitors and analyzes expenditure activity; recommends solutions to management regarding account discrepancies; and/or performs various audits of program budget accounts
- Prepares monthly reconciliations of revolving confidential advances and program specific funding.
