- Manage one or more actuarial functions for a product line or Corporate process
- Evaluate new product ideas and price and maintain existing products
- Direct the design, pricing, and implementation of insurance products
- Lead preparation and interpretation of actuarial information for management
- Monitor profitability by line of business and/or product and develop reports and analyses
- Maintain product lines or Corporate processes in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Manage studies underlying actuarial assumptions and provide assumptions and data to others
- Support creation of systems specifications, contracts, commission structures, and other actuarial aspects of product development
- Monitor and analyze actuarial techniques, applicable laws and regulations, and competitive marketplace developments
- Recommend appropriate reactions to industry and regulatory developments
- Provide guidance on pricing rates, modeling methodology, reserving, and related matters
- Serve as a key resource for major recurring projects
- Represent the company with industry and professional committees and regulators
- May supervise a team of employees
- FSA or equivalent professional designation along with bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field and 7 years of relevant experience
- In lieu of Bachelor's, Master's in a listed discipline and 5 years of relevant experience accepted
- In lieu of FSA, ASA or equivalent professional designation and 10 years of relevant experience accepted
- High quality leadership, judgment, organization and prioritization skills
- Ability to communicate advanced mathematical and analytical concepts verbally and in writing
- Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints
- Excellent computer skills
- Programming skills preferred
Demonstrates expertise in actuarial functions, including product design, pricing, and compliance with regulations. Proficient in advanced mathematical concepts and analytical methodologies, with strong leadership and communication skills.
