Ares Management Analyst Opportunity

Ares Management is one of the largest alternative investment managers in the world. Backed by the power and scale of the Ares platform, Ares Wealth Management Solutions (AWMS) oversees product development, distribution, marketing and client servicing efforts for the global wealth management channel. AWMS' mission is to provide advisors and their clients access to innovative, solutions-oriented investment opportunities, across the Ares platform of industry leading credit, private equity, real estate and infrastructure strategies.

Through our range of institutional and retail structures, coupled with excellent client service and educational resources, we help investors diversify their portfolios with private market solutions that seek to deliver consistent, long-term growth.

Investment Strategy is a global team of multi-asset strategists covering the full scope of private market investing. We work with Ares' investments teams, portfolio management functions, quant teams and distribution teams across the firm to support the growing democratization of private markets. As such, our goal is to be the first call that advisors, fund selectors, private banks and family offices make when investing in private markets.

To help deliver on that, Investment Strategy provides research, education and tools that demonstrate the diversification and performance benefits alternatives can offer within a broader portfolio.

We are looking to add an exceptional Analyst to our growing team in Denver. This person will be a critical part of shaping the future trajectory of the team and get in on the ground floor of the most interesting sector in finance, in the early innings of a major industry shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build expertise and aid the team's advancement in portfolio construction and private markets investing—across private equity, private credit, private real estate and private infrastructure
  • Serve as the team's primary resource for market data and analytics
  • Build quantitative portfolio analysis, optimization tools and datasets
  • Problem-solve to automate inefficient processes
  • Conduct research: analyze large sets of private markets data to identify actionable investment ideas
  • Partner with marketing to create and update exceptional client-facing content, including presentations, publications and media content focused on asset allocation, investment returns, risk management and investment policy and strategy

Knowledge and Skills We're Looking For

"Hard"

  • 1-5 years of work experience in private markets, asset management, banking, consulting or similar
  • Proficient Excel modelling skills and a deep grasp of functions and shortcuts to handle and manipulate large data sets.
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint and Word to create and deliver clear presentations that tell a powerful story
  • Experience building Excel macros and working in R or Python (and with AI coding tools) is highly preferred
  • Experience with Bloomberg is a plus

"Soft"

  • Entrepreneurial and problem-solving mindset with a creative bent
  • Relentless curiosity and a willingness to outwork more experienced peers to find better answers
  • A passion for data analysis and quantitative tasks
  • Natural dissatisfaction with inefficient processes and the motivation to automate, improve and optimize everything
  • Ability to create a "narrative" with data and market themes with equal ability to create tangible deliverables to support that messaging
  • An understanding of portfolio construction principles and private markets
  • Must possess strong integrity and professionalism

Compensation

The anticipated range for this position is $80,000- $100,000 annual base salary plus performance-based discretionary bonus.

  • Top benefits and wellness package including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, Health Savings Account, company paid short-term and long-term disability, company paid and voluntary life insurance, parental leave
  • 401k plan (pre-tax, post-tax, and Roth) with company match
  • Generous vacation policy, lunch stipend, memberships, fun office events, philanthropy matching, volunteer opportunities
  • Significant learning, mentorship, and personal growth opportunities
