About the OpportunityA global publicly traded technology manufacturer is seeking a Director of International Tax to join its corporate tax leadership team. This high-impact role will partner closely with Finance, Legal, and business leaders worldwide to oversee international tax compliance, tax provision, transfer pricing, and strategic tax planning initiatives across a complex multinational organization.
The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in U.S. international taxation, strong leadership capabilities, and experience supporting global operations in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Position OverviewReporting to the Vice President of Tax, the Director of International Tax will lead critical international tax functions, including global tax provision, U.S. international compliance, transfer pricing oversight, and strategic tax planning. This individual will play a key role in driving tax-efficient business initiatives, supporting acquisitions, and ensuring compliance with evolving global tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities International Tax Leadership- Lead the international tax aspects of quarterly and annual global tax provision processes
- Oversee tax accounting calculations and reporting related to foreign operations
- Partner with global finance teams and external advisors to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Provide leadership on significant international tax matters impacting the organization
- Direct all aspects of U.S. international tax compliance and reporting
- Oversee calculations and filings related to:
- GILTI
- Subpart F Income
- FDII
- BEAT
- Earnings & Profits (E&P)
- International information returns and disclosures
- Manage external service providers supporting compliance activities
- Support global tax planning initiatives and operational structuring projects
- Model tax implications of supply chain, cash management, and legal entity strategies
- Evaluate opportunities to optimize global effective tax rates
- Advise senior leadership on international tax risks and opportunities
- Oversee global transfer pricing policies, documentation, and compliance
- Manage internal transfer pricing resources and external advisors
- Ensure alignment between business operations and transfer pricing strategies
- Support acquisition, disposition, and integration activities
- Conduct tax diligence and modeling
- Identify opportunities for tax synergies and value creation post-transaction
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on transaction execution
- Lead responses to international tax audits and inquiries
- Review and prepare tax position memoranda and technical analyses
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support files
- Coordinate with advisors and local finance teams on tax authority examinations
- 12+ years of progressive tax experience
- Experience with in a multinational corporation, public accounting firm, law firm, or combination thereof
- Deep knowledge of:
- U.S. international tax rules
- Global tax provision processes
- Transfer pricing
- International tax compliance
- Global tax planning strategies
- Experience supporting cross-border acquisitions and corporate transactions
- Strong expertise in:
- GILTI
- Subpart F
- FDII
- BEAT
- International tax reporting and compliance
- Advanced tax modeling and analytical capabilities
- Strong tax research and technical writing skills
- Experience with tax technology platforms and compliance systems
