Hybrid Workplace Arrangement

The Division of Banking (DOB) within DORA is responsible for the regulation of state chartered commercial banks, trust companies, and state licensed money transmitters; holds charter and license application hearings and issues rules and regulations affecting regulated institutions; conducts examinations of state chartered institutions and licensees; works closely with the Federal Reserve Bank and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in the regulation of commercial banks and certain federally insured trust companies;

and, is responsible for the enforcement of the Public Deposit Protection Act to protect public entity deposits held by state and national banks. The examinations unit exists to serve and protect the public interest by promoting a safe and sound financial institutions industry.

Position

SCA 2062

This position is responsible for regulating and reporting on the safety and soundness of trust companies and trust departments of banks by planning, organizing, and managing assigned examination personnel; supervises the preparation of the report of each examination; ensures the examination is thorough, complete, and places full responsibility of this activity on the assigned person. This position independently evaluates the adequacy, effectiveness, and the efficiency of the systems within a financial entity and the quality of ongoing operations.

The position provides reasonable assurance that bank/trust company assets and fiduciary assets are safe guarded, information is timely and reliable, and that errors/violations are corrected promptly to safeguard the public interest.

  • Determining examination objectives/areas of review;
  • Setting priorities that ensure the completion of the assigned task within the allotted time;
  • Contributing to the development of subordinate staff by ensuring trainees receive assignments to further their professional development;
