Professional work ensuring compliance for existing government buildings and facilities with the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), specifications and building codes and ensuring physical access by persons with disabilities to all government facilities, programs and services. Work requires knowledge of techniques, methods, and procedures used in general construction materials, technology, and applicable building codes and regulations, for compliance with the ADA which is acquired through training and considerable on-the-job experience.

Contacts with others require skill in understanding and influencing people and are important in providing customer services, including persuasiveness, assertiveness, and sensitivity to others' points of view that are required to influence behavior, change an opinion, or turn a situation around.
