What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $68,773.00 - $79,949.00. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work at a job site or office 3 days per week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days. The office for this position is located at the Wellington
E. Webb Municipal Building at 201 W. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80202.

Denver's Department of Public Health and Environment (DDPHE) is dedicated to advancing Denver's environmental and public health goals. DDPHE works collaboratively with city, state and community partners to conduct education, community engagement, and enforcement to promote healthy people, healthy pets, and a sustainable environment. DDPHE oversees a number of services related to public health and the environment and is comprised of seven divisions:
Division of Shared Services and Business Operations;
Community & Behavioral Health;
Public Health Investigations;
Denver Animal Protection; the Office of Medical Examiner;

The Environmental Quality (EQ) team within DDPHE has an opening for an Associate Environmental Analyst. This position will work as a member of a close-knit team of specialists and generalists in environmental compliance in the Environmental Management and Operations (EMO) section. EMO's work principally addresses municipal operations and facilities. Work assignments for this position will be spread among several regulatory programs, including solid and hazardous waste management, stormwater protection, and air pollution emissions.
This position will require regular and frequent travel, 2 to 4 days a week, between City sites to assess conditions and work with site staff to correct problems or improve already compliant operations.
Specifically, in this role, job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Perform frequent and repeat travel to active City facilities, properties, and work sites to assess conditions and practices in regard to minimizing waste and pollution, and meeting legal and regulatory obligations;
* Write professional quality reports and communications of findings;
* Integrate knowledge and information gained from experience, training and resources with results of assessments to solve problems and implement solutions;
* Read, understand, learn and grow in knowledge and ability to work within state and federal regulatory frameworks, especially regarding regulation of hazardous and solid waste disposal per RCRA.
* Complete forms and contribute to special communications to regulatory agencies or partner organizations regarding conditions of environmental compliance or non-compliance;
* Fully integrate your work, almost daily, with the work of teammates sharing similar regulatory compliance duties;
