This Policy Advisor IV position in the Colorado Division of Insurance supports the Legislative and Regulatory Affairs unit by advising on policy initiatives, primarily healthcare-related matters. The role involves developing and analyzing state legislation, preparing fiscal notes, overseeing regulations and bulletins, ensuring CORA compliance, and leading implementation of federal and state surprise billing requirements. The position is based in Denver and works within DORA's consumer protection mission.
Keyqualifications
- 7 years relevant professional experience in healthcare, health insurance, health policy consulting, or governmental regulatory work
- OR Associate's degree plus 5 years relevant experience
- OR Bachelor's degree plus 3 years relevant experience
- Experience developing, leading and implementing policy agendas or conducting stakeholder outreach on healthcare/health insurance policy
- Ability to research and draft regulations, track legislation, and ensure compliance with state procedural requirements
